Wheels and Tires

1. A front wheel assembly will consist of a single scale rubber tire, rubber “o” ring or foam tire mounted to a single plastic or metal rim.  Rims can be factory production or can be scratch built.

2. A rear wheel assembly will consist of a single scale bar tread agricultural type tire mounted to a single plastic or metal rim.  Rims can be factory production or can be scratch built.  Class rules will specify wheel size.

3. The treads of the rear tires can be sharpened or cut to resemble full scale pulling tires.  No spikes or studs will be allowed.

Sleds

1. All sleds will be set up so as to transfer weight from the back of wheels of the sled to a fixed or floating skid plate at the front as it moves down the pulling track.

2. Sleds can be factory production units or can be scratch built.

3. The sled chain will measure 8” in length, including the “S” hook, and the “S” hook shall be no more than ¼” in diameter.  The chain will be mounted in the center of the skid plate, no more than ¾” from the front of the plate and no more than ¾” off the pulling surface.

4. If a sled should break or otherwise malfunction during a pull, that pull will be null and void.  The puller will be able to repull at a later time in the class.  Sled malfunctions will be determined by track officials only.  If a sled is not repairable the entire class will repull with a new sled.
